01 / 03Intro: light reveals the relief
PROBLEM
Show on screen what matters most: texture and true size.
The value of a relief painting is in the brushstroke and the shadow, and whether it suits a wall depends on its size. In an ordinary gallery every photo is the same size and flat, so a visitor feels neither the relief nor the scale.
SOLUTION
Light reveals the relief, and the wall shows the true scale.
The site opens in a dark studio where the pointer works as a lamp: the light slides across the surface and brings out the brushstroke. In the collection the works hang at true relative size on a single eye-level line, and each artwork page has a loupe and a wall visualisation.
WHAT WE DID
- A custom WordPress theme that runs without JavaScript libraries
- A WebGL intro where light follows the pointer and reveals the relief
- The collection hung at true relative size, with museum labels
- Filters by colour, an available-only switch and wall or list view
- Artwork pages with a loupe, dimensions and a wall visualisation
- A commission configurator that shows the scale beside a sofa
- Selected-works inquiries, each one stored in the site
- WooCommerce as a catalogue: prices visible, checkout switched off
RESULT
The site runs in a test environment with 11 works.
The gallery wall, artwork pages, commission configurator and inquiries are in place: prices are visible, sold works are marked and checkout is switched off. Final descriptions and the public launch come next.
